HT Works - 2 min read

11 kV vs 33 kV HT Works

How 11 kV and 33 kV high-tension electrical works differ and what the scope generally includes.

11 kV and 33 kV are common high-tension voltage levels in distribution networks. The higher the voltage, the greater the clearances, insulation and safety measures required, so 33 kV works generally involve larger structures and stricter procedures than 11 kV.

Scope

HT works at either level can include equipment and cable works, terminations, erection and commissioning, always carried out to the applicable standards and safety requirements.

Which voltage applies to your project

The voltage level is usually set by the supply available from the utility and the size of the load, not chosen freely. Smaller loads and local distribution are typically served at 11 kV, while larger loads and bulk supply points are served at 33 kV. The utility's requirements for your connection will confirm which applies.
